MICKEY
SWINGERHEAD AND THE EARTHGIRLS is
the Hi-Fi-Sci-Fi Musical Comedy written and staged by Michael
"Mickey Swingerhead" Andrew. It's performed in the
style of a 1950's B-Movie with the live audience in a space-age, interactive
cabaret style setting - yes, it's really out there.
Mickey Swingerhead is a rebel in the future who
strives to keep illegal swing music alive in a futuristic society where
all music is controlled by the Universal Government and outlawed by the
Jazz Police. He lives in an underground space station known as
'The Bachelor Pad'. There, he and the 'Earthgirls' perform the
underground swingin' music to an "in the know" audience while
the space station is constantly monitored by Mickey's best friend and
head of security, Cosmo Kelp. Cosmo's Satellite Pod orbits around
the "pad" always on the lookout for Chief Marvin Welk and the
Jazz Police.
As our story begins, Mickey returns from one of his long journeys
to Earth to get the forbidden sheet music. He is followed by
the Jazz Police and narrowly escapes by ejecting from his space scooter.
After a brief hello ('Hey Baby, I'm Home', 'It's My Bachelor
Pad'), Mickey and the Earthgirls rehearse for the show. They
are warned by Cosmo (on video monitor) that Mickey may have been followed
and the location of the pad may have been discovered.
As they perform the show
('Blues for Swingerhead', 'Good Evening Friends', 'Move It Earthgirl'),
Cosmo interrupts the performance and warns Mickey that Chief Marvin
Welk has indeed discovered their location and is on his way.

Oh my!!!
Will
the bachelor pad be destroyed?
Will Mickey be forced to sing slow waltzes from now on?
Will swing music be forgotten?

"Mickey Swingerhead and The Earthgirls
by Michael Andrew is brilliant... Mickey is like Harry Connick
Jr. meets Tom Corbett and the Space Cadets." - Orlando
Weekly
"Thanks to Mickey Swingerhead, the beat goes on in a society
that has tried to stop the music...His original music is bright
and breezy, taking clichés from the '50s and '60s music
and injecting an amusing freshness." - The Orlando Sentinel
